6 years in education
Hello! My name is Brian Rodriguez (Mr. Rodriguez) and I am excited to be entering my second year at Firm Foundation. Last year I taught sixth grade, History, Bible, Applications and Science. I also coached Varsity and Junior Varsity basketball at Firm Foundation. I am looking forward to see where and how God will lead me, your child and the school.I was born and raised in sunny Southern California in a small town called Claremont. I was raised under my lovely parents, Richard and Judy Rodriguez and one older brother Michael. I grew up playing sports, hanging with friends, attending Dodger, USC and Laker games, going to the beach, being active and eating In-n-out burger. To this day not much has changed, I still love playing sports, watching and supporting my teams, being with friends and hanging with my beautiful girlfriend Kara.I attended Azusa Pacific University and received my bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. I then proceeded to stay and attend Azusa Pacific University graduate program and received my Masters in Science, MS.You might ask yourself, how did Brian Rodriguez (Mr. Rodriguez) end up in Vancouver, Washington? Great question! My best friend attended Azusa Pacific as well. During that time he met a girl, who now is his wife and she was born in raised in Vancouver, WA. My best friend felt God tugging on his heart to pray for I move up here. We talked and I began to pray and seek if this is what the Lord had planned for me in that time of my life. A few months went by and one Sunday while at church I felt God calling me to move. Like Peter I stepped out of the boat not knowing what would happen but felt secure enough that God would not let me sink. I have lived in Vancouver for 2 years now and God has done some amazing things while I have been here. I am coming into my third season coaching football at Skyview High School, Girls Sprint coach during track season, doing Young Life at Skyview High School, and met a wonderful, Christ-loving and beautiful girlfriend. God is good!I just wanted to share about me with you and your family. I am looking forward to the 2016-2017 school year. Go Eagles! Blessings, Brian Rodriguez
