“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, what is unseen is eternal.” – 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

I attended Seattle Pacific University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. I was an English major and also earned my teaching certificate there. Since finishing my undergraduate work, I have taken numerous courses, both undergraduate and graduate.

20 years in education

I have been married to my dear husband D.J. for 30+ years. We have 3 sons, all grown and out on their own. Sean is serving in the Air Force, is married and the father of our two adorable granddaughters, Caleb is a math teacher in Idaho, and Jacob is a high school English teacher in Orting, WA. I enjoy reading (of course!), directing plays here at Firm, gardening, puzzles, traveling, sewing, kayaking and playing with our cute golden retriever, Maggie. I attend Northcrest Community Church in Vancouver and serve on the worship team there.
