A Wonderful Week One!

We hope you all enjoyed the warm welcome on the first day. Our goal was to give the students (and parents!) a glimpse of how excited we are to have them on campus!

This morning we had our first chapel of the year. It always warms my heart to hear all the wonderful voices raised in songs that honor and glorify our Lord. Even more important, however, is that our students hear the Word of God taught as truth in a world that wants them to believe exactly the opposite. We want them to learn of God’s faithfulness and how the Bible is applicable to their lives today. Pastor Jason Salmi gave a warm and welcoming message to our elementary students while Mike Olson, FFCS alumni and recent college graduate, encouraged our middle school and high school students.

Joshua 1:9 is God’s reminder to Joshua. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” While these words were given to Joshua, we can also take encouragement from them. That fundamental truth – that they can be strong and courageous because God is always with them – is a message that we want all of our students to hold onto in their hearts and minds.

There are several upcoming opportunities for parents to join us on campus in the coming weeks. One is our parents’ prayer group, which will resume the week of the 11th. (Check the Weekly Notes for more information on this and other opportunities.) If you can’t come during that time, I encourage you to set aside time to pray for our students and our team. Pointing students to God as we teach from a Biblical worldview is at the heart of our mission and you are an important part of that!

Classes resume on Tuesday, following the 3-day Labor Day weekend. We hope you have a wonderful weekend! Mrs. Olson
