Holy Week Musings
Tomorrow, April 2nd, marks the last school day before Good Friday. We do not have school on Good Friday so that families can reflect on and prepare for their respective Good Friday services.
Good Friday is the day of Jesus’ crucifixion. Before that, he was betrayed, denied, arrested, and mocked.
One of my favorite hymns contains the following lyrics:
“Man of Sorrows!” what a name
For the Son of God, who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
The book of Romans tells us all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God…we are the “ruined sinners” he died to reclaim. What a savior, indeed! On the cross, he said “It is finished.”
And then Easter…resurrection Sunday!
As you and your loved ones celebrate the risen Savior on Sunday, I pray that you truly feel the love of God, and that the coming Spring Break is a time of sweet fellowship and restoration as we prepare the final leg of the school year!
He is risen!
