The Home Stretch

Good evening! As I write this, there are still quite a few faculty members on campus, even though twilight is beginning to fall. We are on the home stretch to the start of the school year, and the push is on to get all the final details in place for the launch of school on 9/2.

Later this week, you will begin to receive information on new procedures and protocols. Elementary teachers are preparing newsletters to go home to parents. Welcome videos are being prepared. Instead of our traditional “New Parent Orientation,” we will be sharing a video outlining important information. The nurse will be sending information about the new immunization laws (a heads up…students cannot attend in person or online unless their immunizations are up to date!).

In the midst of all this, there is an air of expectation. We eagerly await the return of students to campus. We will rejoice in seeing our returning students, and extend a VERY warm welcome to all of our new students.

As we are all aware by now, this year will look different. As we talked about in our team meeting this morning, the challenges we face serve a purpose. In Lamentations 3:22-23 we are told that “…the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

We have seen his love through all of the challenges. These challenges allow us to see the magnitude of God’s love and care for us. It allows us to come together in unity for the sake of the gospel, and it allows us to minister to others. It allows us to point others to the one true God, who never changes, and who never waivers.

We are praying for our students and the FFCS families. We ask that you join us in praying for our students, and their families, in the days and weeks ahead. In the meantime, enjoy these final days of summer!
