Math Teacher
Coby Rothwell
My journey to become a teacher began with my father teaching for many years and three of my siblings following in his path. My father was my 6th grade teacher and I grew from that point on with my love for math. As middle school math teacher and basketball coach, I enjoy working with the students and building their confidence and abilities in mathematics, as well as in basketball. I believe it is important to teach life skills within both that the students can take with them wherever they go in their future.
Overall, I believe that teaching is a calling of mine and I strive to grow and develop to be better for my students each and every day. I highly value education and helping the youth of our world grow in their love for God and to become the best version of themselves.
My spiritual growth first began with my grandma Gladys Iverson, who was the prayer warrior of our family. She lived with us for over 20 years in our family home and was the first to teach me about God, His great love for us, and taking part in daily prayer and communion. She was the spiritual backbone of our family and influenced us to become involved in the church. I’ve had the honor of serving on multiple worship teams, as well as singing and playing drums at various churches with my family band.
In addition to playing and coaching basketball, my hobbies include working with animals, traveling abroad, collecting/investing in sports cards, playing drums and singing, and spending quality time with family.
