The Countdown is On!
August 17, 2020
Today marked the start of in service for teachers and staff. What a joy to have everyone back on campus! Our team has worked tirelessly all summer to figure out the details to launch a safe reopening on 9/2 in the light of the COVID-19 restrictions.
Yes, there will be masks (or face shields) to wear and daily health screenings. Rather than focusing on things we wish were different, we have instead chosen to focus on the fact that – as of today – we get to have students back on campus!
We have launched two new extension programs to serve our families. The first is for parents who wish to be the primary educator of their child using FFCS curriculum and pacing. This program, FFCS @ Home, is a great option for those of you who have expressed a desire to keep your students at home during this period of restrictions, and if there is room when the restrictions are lifted, return them to class.
The second extension program is the Eagle Online Academy. Students enrolled in this program will participate in the classroom with the teacher in real time via technology. If you have interest in either of these programs, please contact wbaker for more information.
More information will be coming out about signing up for "open house." You will receive an email with a link to sign up for a specific time for your student to bring in supplies and meet with their teacher.
We will also be sending out the email next week about how to conduct your student’s daily health screening before you arrive in the morning. This will definitely streamline morning drop off for families that use this option. We’ve started using it on campus this week for in service, and it’s gone very well.
God created us for relationships…with Him and with each other. That is truly what we are most excited about. We get to welcome our returning students, as well as meet the new members of the "FFCS family."
We are praying for you and your students during this transition time. We would also welcome your continued prayers as we enter the home stretch of preparing to open the doors on 9/2! God bless you all for the continued prayers and support during this incredible period in our history.
And speaking of history, September will mark the 25th anniversary of FFCS. God has been very gracious, providing for the needs of this little school throughout the years. While the launch of this year will look different, many things will be the same.
– Amazing teachers who care for their students.
– An integrated biblical world-view.
– Classroom learning for those who chose that option.
And, most important, helping our students discover and develop their God-given gifts and talents in a supportive environment.
Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
